As modern craft brewers, we stand on the shoulders of giants. Friendly giants like Sierra Nevada, Lagunitas, Stone, Ballast Point and many other West Coast brewing pioneers who reintroduced the world to flavorful, hop-forward beer. Beers were packed with pithy, piney, resiney hop oils from varieties like Cascade, Centennial & Chinook. My first sip of Stone IPA reminded me of alcoholic grapefruit juice with it’s bold citrusy aromas and firm bitterness.

Lately it’s been tricky to track down hops with those “classic” flavor and aroma profiles so we had to put together a blend. We think this is about as close as we can come to those strong grapefruit pith notes I remember so fondly.
