Joshua Aciares is a New York born artist whose creative roots were shaped by the city’s energy and its rich cultural landscape. Inspired early on by visual storytelling most notably films like John Carpenter’s The Thing he began his artistic journey through illustration and design, using pen based artwork to develop a distinctive style grounded in discipline, experimentation, and expressive honesty.
After relocating to Hartford, Connecticut, Aciares expanded his creative voice through music. A self taught guitarist and songwriter, he crafts emotionally resonant compositions influenced by acoustic, indie rock, experimental, and shoegaze elements. His sound blends raw vulnerability with textured, atmospheric arrangements, drawing inspiration from artists such as Maynard James Keenan, Deftones, and Peter Gabriel.
Aciares’ career highlights include ranking as the #3 artist on Hot Topic’s Music platform in 2003, opening for major acts including Wale, New Found Glory, and Uncle Kracker, and multiple features on Radio 104.1’s Homebrew with Vikki Six. His work continues to connect deeply with audiences, showcasing a lifelong commitment to creativity, storytelling, and artistic evolution.
