John Prout is a deeply unserious person about the serious parts of life. He writes songs, for example, making fun of himself for how he handled certain situations, or how he thought he would look when dating a certain TV character. There are songs about the bitter parts of life, the love we find along the way, and the speed bumps we hit that we don’t expect. As an open mic host, John has come across more musicians than he can count that have shaped how he approaches the honesty of songwriting, which he is using to head into the studio to record his first EP this fall.
