Lore has it that, English stouts bound for the outlying tropical edges of the British Empire were brewed stronger (higher ABV) to better survive the journey. We modeled this recipe off of these bolder Export / Tropical stouts.

We taste layers of cocoa, burnt sugar, coffee and raisins – reminiscent of Goslings Rum.
