Sweet Deception is a Working Title

Brewed with trivia winners Yay Beer, this is our first attempt at brewing the un-cola beer style called “White Stout”. I am not exactly sure when white stout became popular but it seemed to around the same time people were experimenting with other, “subversion of reality” beers like Black IPA (a hoppy dark beer that didn’t taste as dark as it looked) or Schwarzbier (effectively a black German Pils). The idea is that the combination of blonde roast coffee, cocoa nibs and vanilla can mimic some of the flavors common in rich stouts without impacting the color. So you are left with a pale beer that makes your brain think stout – kinda.
