Alex Ranniello

Alex Ranniello is a mixed media studio painter based out of Wethersfield, Connecticut. His forte is grounded in portraiture & figure painting made by oil paint and heavy body acrylics; In addition to his preferred media, he also works colored pencils, pastels oils & acrylics. Ranniello’s paintings invoke high vibrational energy, capturing the pinnacle human spirit of summertime. His painting style features impressionistic luminous colors and robust open ended brushstrokes, encapsulated by graphically-styled vivid contours. To cast this ambiance of summer, the characters he paints are set in cheerful, tropical, and warm summer scenery immersed by juicy fresh fruit, pool figurines, and many of the icons and elements emblematic of the seasonal warm weather. With deep-rooted influences from California, many of the paintings’ titles harken back to towns, cities, and landmarks derived from California to give these works recognizability while paying respect to the beautiful scenery & culture.
